For those looking to explore the Monte Rosa glaciers, the Quintino Sella Mountain Refuge route is an excellent choice.  The Quintino Sella is the highest point which can be reached from Ayas without mountaineering equipment.  To reach it, you must be well trained to cope with the fatigue caused by the height (3,585m).
