Snowshoeing in Mera

Walk in nature in front of Monte Rosa

By: Visit Monterosa

Percorsi ciaspole all’Alpe di Mera

Snowshoeing in Mera, overlooking the imposing south face of Monte Rosa, is an experience not to be missed!

There are three routes available to those who want to discover the beauty of the climb and the views that can be admired at high altitude. They are different in length and height, but they all form a ring and most are suitable even for people just starting out with snowshoes.

THE PATHS

The Yellow route

The yellow route is a ring that starts at the Trogo Alto car park. It reaches Alpe di Mera passing through the Church Madonna Della Neve and returns to the departing point.

The Green route

The blue route starts from Trogo car park, reaches Bocchetta della Boscarola and then continues towards the center of the village of Mera. It rejoins the Fuchsia path on the main street of Mera at the fountain. For those wishing to return on foot towards the starting point, there is the possibility of reconnecting to the yellow path, near the Church.

The Fuchsia route

The Fuchsia route is a ring that starts from the Church Madonna della Neve and initially leads to the central road of Mera. It reaches the Boschetto area and then returns along a stretch in the woods that runs along the track.

The map will help you to discover them, it will indicate the departure and arrival points and also crossings on the ski slopes, where you should pay particular attention and follow the directions on the signs. Signs with the color of the paths will guide you when you are on the spot.

If you want to test yourself with a more challenging route, two others are proposed in the Mera area with the accompaniment of a Hiking Guide.
