AMA - MONTEROSA SKY MARATHON
Monte Rosa SkyMarathon is an international skyrunning competition that takes place in Alagna Valsesia. An exciting and long-awaited race, to be covered in pairs, which follows the original route completed for the first time in 1992. The race starts from Alagna Valsesia (1.192 meters) and ends at the Capanna Margherita Hut (4.554 meters) passing through Bocchetta delle Pisse, Punta Indren lift station, the Gnifetti Hut and finally Colle del Lys. The route develops over a difference in altitude of 7.000 meters and covers a total distance of 35 km between climbs, descents, paths, ski slopes and the glacier.
A maximum of 250 couples are admitted but the number may vary in relation to the conditions of the mountain at the unquestionable decision of the race management.
The race is scheduled for Saturday 15 June 2024 | In case of bad weather the race can be postponed to Sunday 16 June.
AMA VK2 – VERTICAL KILOMETER
In addition to the first and longest race, the MonteRosa SkyMarathon, the format of the event also includes AMAVK2 an individual race up to 3.260 meters where Indren lift station is.
The route starts from Alagna Valsesia (1.192 metres) passing through Bocchetta delle Pisse (2.396 metres), up to Indren lift station (3.260 metres), for a total length of 9 km and 2.086 meters of altitude difference. A breathtaking vertical challenge held during the same weekend!
The race is scheduled for Saturday 15 June 2024 | In case of bad weather the race can be postponed to Sunday 16 June.
MONTE ROSA VERTICAL
From this year there will be a third race, with the new Monte Rosa Vertical, open to non athlete hikers too. 1.150 meters of climbing alone.. a tough challenge for anyone! The route starts from Alagna Valsesia, 1.192 meters, passing through the Grande Halte Hut and climbs directly to the Bocchetta delle Pisse, 2.396 meters, along the new ski slope Mullero Competition.
There race is composed by a competitiveone and one for walkers of all ages. Monte Rosa Vertical is scheduled for Sunday 16 June 2024.
