Gressoney-Saint-Jean

Thanks to its Walser villages, the picturesque sixteenth-century church, the nineteenth-century villas and the Savoy castle, Saint Jean is an important cultural center of Monte Rosa, but also the starting point for renowned ski slopes.

In winter you can ski on the mythical slopes of Weissmatten, among centuries-old stone pines and frozen lakes. The black run "Internazionale Leonardo David" is known by most people because it annually hosts international level competitions and training, but also for night openings. On those occasions it is offered to skiers for an evocative skiing illuminated under the stars.
