TREKKING IN VAL D’AYAS WITH EXCURSION GUIDES

1) TREKKING “WHEN THE VIEW REMOVES YOUR BREATH”

A trekking route that will remain in your mind for a long time! The opportunity to travel among the most beautiful paths and admire the most impressive peaks of Monte Rosa and its majesty the Matterhorn accompanied by the experience and professionalism of the Hiking Guides. You will hardly forget these breathtaking views!
Easy routes, without technical difficulties, but which presuppose a good training in the mountains as the daily average of positive altitude difference is 760 m. and 12.50 km. The routes may be subject to changes due to weather or physical conditions of the participants.

On the evening of arrival: welcome and presentation of the hiking guide.

1st day: departure from Estoul 1800 m. Battle Lake – Couloir Lake – Palasinaz Hill 2668 m. Packed lunch. Descent from the north side of the wonderful Mascognaz valley to Champoluc 1580 m difference in altitude + 868 m. about 14.00 km. 8.30 / 16.30
2nd day: departure from Mandrou 1849 m. climb to Colle Vascoccia 2568 m. Packed lunch. Descent to Ru Cortaud – Alpe Varda – Champoluc m. 1580. Difference in altitude + 718 m. about 12.00 km. 8.30 / 16.30
3rd day: departure from Champoluc with ski lifts (if period with open lifts) until Crest 1975 m. – Colle Perrin m. 2655 and Perrin lake. Packed lunch in the presence of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn / Matterhorn Descent from the south side of the Mascognaz valley to Champoluc. Difference in altitude + 680 km 12 approximately. 9.00 / 16.30

Cost € 200 + VAT per day. Any costs for transfers (unless agreed with the hotel) and packed lunches will be borne by the participants.

2) TREKKING WALKING IN THE MIDDLE AGES

The Hiking Guides offer you a cultural trek among the most beautiful medieval castles in the Ayas Valley. An itinerary that will allow you to immerse yourself completely in the purest nature of the paths of the valley and lose yourself in the ruins, stories and tales of a past period. Easy routes, without technical difficulties, but which still require a moderate training in the mountains. The routes may be subject to changes due to weather or physical conditions of the participants.

On the evening of arrival: welcome and presentation of the hiking guide.

1st day: Challand Saint Victor 744 m. visit to the medieval Dairy of Villa, ascent to the ruins of the Castle of Villa, panoramic point on the valley – visit to the reserve of the lake of Villa – along the path of Challand Art to the Col d’Arlaz 1190 m. – return along the Ru d’Arlaz to Challand Saint Anselme or Saint Victor. Difference in altitude + 446 m km 8 / 9.5 approximately. 9.00 / 16.00
2nd day: Graines, where time has stopped.
Transfer to Arcesaz 1132 m, ascent and visit to Graines Castle, continuation to Graines Village 1396 m, visit to the ethnographic museum and old school – Fenilliaz Village 1647 m – descent along the miners’ path, possible visit to the Chamusira mines (if open) – Brusson m. 1367 Difference in altitude + 515 m. about 5.50 km. 9.00 / 16.00
Day 3: Along the Ru Cortaud, a miracle of medieval acrobatic engineering, in front of Monte Rosa.
Transfer to the Col di Joux 1639 m. Along the panoramic Rue Cortaud to Barmasc 1900 m. descent to Antagnod and visit one of the most beautiful villages in the world. Difference in altitude + 261 m. about 9.50 km. 9.00 / 16.30

Cost € 200 + VAT per day. Any costs for transfers (if not agreed with the Hotel), lunch in a refuge or packed lunch, visit to the mine, will be borne by the participants.

3) TREKKING IN THE WALSER HEART

Come and discover the heart of the Walser culture through a trekking itinerary accompanied by the Hiking Guides! We offer you a 3-day itinerary to discover the deepest and most noble sides of the Walser culture in the Ayas Valley. All accompanied by the knowledge, experience and professionalism of the hiking guides who will guide you on an intense natural and cultural journey.
Easy routes, without technical difficulties, but which require a moderate training in the mountains. The routes may be subject to changes due to weather or physical conditions of the participants.

On the evening of arrival: welcome and presentation of the hiking guide.

1st day: Departure from Champoluc 1580 m. Along ancient mule tracks to the Walser villages: Mascognaz
1810 m. View on the southern slope of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn / Matterhorn – Frantze 1880 m. – Champoluc.
Ring trip, difference in altitude + 300 m. About 5 km. 9.00 / 15.30. Packed lunch or at the refuge
2nd day: Departure from Champoluc, ski lifts up to the Crest, at 1975 m. – towards the villages of Cuneaz 2062
m.- Soussun – Resy m. 2086 – Saint Jacques des Allemands 1689 m. Return by bus to Champoluc.
Ring trip, difference in altitude + 100 m. about 7,5 km. 9.00 / 15.30. Packed lunch or at the refuge.
Day 3: Along the Krämertal, the merchants’ street. From Saint Jacques des Allemands m. 1689 ring in the first part of the Vallone delle Cime Bianche up to m. 2333, Pian di Tzere, packed lunch at Alpe Ceucca m. 2200 – At the foot of Monte Rosa: Pian di Verra m. 2053 – Saint Jacques des Allemands m. 1689
Ring trip, difference in height +644 m. about 8.50 km. 9.00 / 16.30

The departure and arrival times may be subject to changes depending on the period chosen for the trek and therefore on the related bus or shuttle timetables.
