Alpe di Mera

Alpe di Mera in summer is the paradise for sun, nature and sport!

Its shape, made of gentle slopes, and its exposure to the sun, is the perfect one for walks. Itineraries are suitable for everyone, from the easiest to travel with the whole family to the most demanding and panoramic ones. The main paths crossing Mera, arriving or departing from the village are:

233b: Alpe di Mera / Bocchetta della Boscarola
236: Pila / Alpe di Mera / Cima Ometto
236a: Scopello / Alpe di Mera
237: Pila / Alpe Sella / Alpe di Mera

All around a green and luxuriant nature, made first of woods and then of blueberry and rhododendron bushes!

Having lunch in one of the restaurants at altitude, to appreciate traditional cuisine with an amazing view of Monte Rosa, is a must!

A panoramic cycle path passes under the Ometto peak, through the pastures of Meggiana, Pizzo and Sorbella and then down to Rassa. From Meggiana a ring route leads back to Mera, while from Rassa, always on a dirt road, it is possible to reach Alagna for a route of about 40 km or return to Scopello. A new pedestrian and cycle ring route, entirely in the territory of Mera, will be completed for the beginning of the 2020 summer season. It is a simple and signposted itinerary, suitable for the whole family. You will find the indications on the maps at the ticket and Tourist Offices.

From July 2020, children will find a new playground with wooden structures. There will be swings, small Tibetan bridges, a pirate ship to explore, slides, climbing rope walls and even a raft to cross the lake!

At altitude you will also find a tennis court, managed by the Pro Loco Mera and the possibility of taking off with tandem paragliding accompanied by a Guide.

Mera it’s a real park for those who love the mountains, with one of the best view on Monte Rosa!

You can reach Alpe di Mera by taking the chair lift that departs from Scopello. It’s the most scenic and greenest way to get it! Have a look at the calendar to check the days and times of the service and choose whether to get up on the red two-seater chairs, or by car with paid access.
